God's Peace and Greetings!

My name is Jeremy Hargest, and I am a first-year student at United Lutheran Seminary. I'm 34 years old and live in Catonsville with my wife, Megan, and our two cats, Lily and Bart. Though I live in the Baltimore area now, I grew up not far from here. I was born and raised just across the Mason-Dixon line near Hanover, Pennsylvania, and spent a large part of my childhood on both sides of the border. A lifelong Lutheran, my home church is Immanuel Lutheran in Manchester, and I also spent over a decade at St. Bartholomew's ELCA in Hanover.

I may be a new face here, but I have long ties to Hampstead as well. My grandfather was the president of Hampstead Bank from the 1960s to the 1980s, my grandmother taught elementary school in Manchester for over thirty years, and my mother graduated from North Carroll in 1978.

Prior to starting seminary, I earned a bachelor's degree in history from Susquehanna University in 2014 and in the years since have worked a variety of jobs, including over eight years in the automotive industry. When I'm not in class or church, I currently work as a service technician at a tire center in Catonsville. I enjoy model railroading, traveling, antiquing, and researching history, especially genealogy, cartography, and local history.

I'm incredibly excited to share this first step in my ministry with you all here at St. Mark's, and I look forward to meeting you all and doing God's work with you in the coming months.
