Worshiping Through Music

Bell Choir

The hand bell choir was formed in 1997. This new way of worship began with two full of octaves of Schulmerich hand bells that were given as a memorial. Additional bells have been added since then. Members of all ages have devoted themselves to learning to ring the bells for the Glory of God.
Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 6:15-7:00.
Director: Margy Ziegler
Did you know?
From Margy Ziegler, Director: “The Bells are here because of our daughter, Jess. We were given money and didn't know what to do with it when she passed. My father suggested we buy a two-octave set of bells to honor her memory. So that's what we did. This was before our time here, so when we came to St. Mark's they were not being used at the other church, so we brought them here. The rest is history. I never expected to play them, but I love it. It gives me a connection to her I thought I would never have.”

Chancel Choir

Our small but mighty choir’s beautiful sound can be heard during our Traditional services, but is currently on hiatus as we pursue hiring a new Choir Director. In the meantime, they gather to sing anthems during the Christmas Eve and Easter services under the informal direction of Ash Hillary and accompanied by Cassie Klein on the piano.
Rehearsals are ad hoc when preparing for a high holiday.
Director: TBD

Children's Choir

While not an official musical group at St. Mark's, the Sunday School children lend their voices during the Christmas Eve program and Easter Sunday. Our hope is to have them sing more often under the direction of our eventual new Choir Director.

Praise Band

The Contemporary Praise and Worship Service began on the first Sunday of October 2000 with just an upright piano and a handful of singers. Today, it includes two guitarists (rhythm and lead), a drummer, a keyboardist, and singers covering all ranges.

The band plays both newer, Contemporary Christian music and old favorites. They have become the specialty of the informal service setting.

Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:15.
